Jay Gruska

Jay Gruska (born April 23, 1952) is an American songwriter and composer best known for both his film and television scoring as well as songwriter of multiple hits for a variety of artists. He has composed the musical score for dozens of one hour TV dramas with over 500 hours of shows played internationally. He is the recipient of 3 EMMY Award nominations, one GENIE Award nomination (Canadian Oscar), and 9 ASCAP awards. Some of Gruska's best known scores are ''Lois & Clark:The New Adventures of Superman'' (main title theme and all episodes), ''Charmed'' (all 8 seasons) and ''Supernatural'' 〔("'Supernatural' Musical Episode 'Fan Fiction' to Feature Songs by Christopher Lennertz & Jay Gruska" ) ''Film Music Reporter''. == Career ==

Gruska has worn several musical hats, starting out as a singer/songwriter with a recording contract with ABC DUNHILL Records, followed by Warner Bros. Records with the band MAXUS,〔("JAY GRUSKA on Adult Contemporary Music in Japan" ) ''bekkoame.ne.jp''. Accessed 12 November 2014.〕 where he was the lead singer and songwriter. After that, Warner Brothers Records released his solo album "Which One Of Us Is Me", which Gruska also produced. He was briefly with Three Dog Night in 1976, replacing Danny Hutton, until they disbanded.
Gruska also is known for co-writing the hit #1 Dance Charts duet for Michael and Jermaine Jackson "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin", the #1 country duet "Both To Each Other", the #1 Adult Contemporary and #2 Pop hit "Friends and Lovers", and the #1 Adult Contemporary and #8 Hot 100 hit "Good For Me".〔("2009 Presenters - LimmundLA." ) ''limmundla''. Accessed 17 November 2014.〕 Gruska wrote and produced 2 original songs for the episode (co-writing the lyrics with Robbie Thompson, the screenwriter of the episode), and within 24 hours of airing, his song "The Road So Far" was #3 on the iTunes Soundtrack charts (staying in the Top 20 for a few weeks) and #57 in the ALL SONGS category of iTunes.
